Cool Easy Farming Guide

The following is a very easy step-by-step farming method I have found to be extremely effective and efficient. Before I get started, this farming guide is built for a SWORD weilding warrior, it will not worth with an axe or hammer warrior. Also, this is a farming guide for melee-attacking foes; such as griffons, minotaurs, ettins, etc. Let's get started...

First of all, your skill bar should look like this:

1. Gladiators Defense {elite}
2. Bonetti's Defense
3. Defensive Stance
4. Deadly Riposte
5. Riposte
6. Healing Signet
7. Balthazar's Spirit
8. Mending

Stat allocation:
Tactics: 13-14 (depending on type of helmet)
Swordsmanship: 11
Healing: 3
Strength: All leftovers

The 3 points in Healing are the fewest possible to get +2 health regeneration. The 13 in tactics are crucial to doing damage, since all the skills are based upon tactics. The 11 in swordsmanship is just enough to make sure I'm doing about 15 per hit. The rest in strength are leftovers.

Griffon Farming - Most profitable
Ok, so you have your skills and stats setup, time to go farm. First thing to do when you step outside, cast Mending and Balthazar's Spirit. Now time to find the griffons. Don't bother killing the Rockshot Devourers, they never drop anything good. The minotaurs are questionable, I usually just run right past them, they will chase you for about 15 seconds and then eventually leave you alone.

Follow the road out of "Prophets Path" from Argury Rock. Eventually make a left after a group of 3 minotaurs run past you, this is where 20 or so Griffons like to hang out. They tend to pack in 3's or 4's, which is ideal for farming. I like to get about 8 together to make it faster, but to start out, 4 is fine.

The very first thing you do when coming into attack is cast Gladiatiors Defense. This is the main attack. (Gladiatiors Defense is elite and can be captured in the Dragon's Lair mission). As soon as you can, cast Deadly Riposte and Riposte. You'll notice that the griffons are taking about 33 damage every time they attack you, and they'll be bleeding from Deadly Riposte. Make sure you keep an eye on how long Gladiators Defense lasts, because when it runs out, you need to either cast Bonetti's Defense or Defensive Stance. All 3 of these stances have "75% chance to evade". If you fail to cast, you'll die in a matter of seconds. Be sure NOT to cast Riposte or Deadly Riposte while using Bonetti's Defense or Defensive Stance because these are ended upon using skills. Just use these stances as a recharge time for Gladiators Defense, which recharges in 30 seconds.

So to recap what we've gone over so far, as soon as the first Griffon attacks, cast Gladiatiors Defense and spam Riposte and Deadly Riposte as much as possible in the 11 seconds that Gladiatiors Defense lasts.

Step 2, cast Bonetti's Defense when Gladiator's Defense ends. Just keep hitting the griffons with your sword to charge up adrenaline.

Step 3, cast Defensive Stance when Bonetti's Defense ends. Keep waiting for Gladiatiors Defense to recharge.

Repeat step 1. Again, it should take about 1 minute to kill a pack of Griffons.

ALSO, if you need to use Healing Signet, make sure you're using Gladiatiors Defense while you do it, otherwise, it'll get interrupted, you'll take massive damage while casting, or it will cancel a stance.

Basically, you should only be taking minimal damage. Griffons like to use "Final Thrust", so make sure your health does not go below 50% or you'll be in trouble. Also, stay away from Rockshot Devourers, they will interrupt your healing signets whenever they get a chance.

One more thing to keep in mind....there are 2 griffon bosses that spawn out there. One is a warrior and one is a monk. The warrior is named "Featherfist", and he is easy to kill, just like a normal griffon only bigger. The other is "ScreamingClaw". This build will take forever to kill him, so my advice is to just skip him.

This is an extremely simple Griffon farming build, but if you're having trouble with it, you can message me in-game, my name is "Devona The Fierce". I'd be happy to show you.

So now that you know how it's done, get out there and make some money!

uhm, if this build requires just 2 pips of health regeneration, why dont use watchfull spirit instead? doesent require any points in healing, so now you can put those in something else

2 things.

1. This belong's in Tyrian Explorer's League or Warrior's forum, not Riverside.
2. You already HAVE a thread on griffon or ettin farming in the Tyrian Explorer's League Forum.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=109061

So in future please post this in the appropriate forums, or expand upon threads you have already made in future.

Basically because putting 1 more point into strength isn't going to really have any inherant effect. It wouldnt make a difference either way.
